Sinopsis:
Victoria is from Chile and lives in Sweden. At the age of 48, she falls in love with the much younger Juan-Carlos. They get married and she is planning to move to Cuba, where her husband lives. Victoria’s happiness is soon turned upside down, she is getting blind on one eye. But her missfortune encourages her to follow her dreams and discover the most important things in life. The director Gorki Glaser-Müller is Victorias son. In the film, mother and son experience Victoria’s reality through struggle and laughter.

¡VIVA MAMÁ! is a colourful ”close up” documentary about embracing life and the will to start over again.

Directors commentary/ statement:
I wanted to film my mothers way to deal with missfortunes, her will to live and fight. All that without arranging anything. So all the intervews developed from conversations. I wanted to celebrate her in an colourful ”Ode to my Mother”.
